Harry Ettlinger's story has been made into a Hollywood film featuring George Clooney
Harry Ettlinger (pictured top right) is the last of the 'Monument Men', the name given to the group tasked with reclaiming stolen art work from the Nazis near the end of WWII. Now a widower following the death of his long time wife Mimi (main picture), his story was told in the Hollywood film of the same name, starring George Clooney and Matt Damon (bottom right), and after lobbying pressure by Clooney, Ettlinger is to soon receive the Congressional Gold Medal for his bravery in the final stages of the war.
