The Eagle and the Lion is an award winning tele-play produced in Baltimore in 1987 by an all Black theater company. This obscure film was lost for some time but through the process of film preservation it was premiered in Jamaica for the first time in 27 years. The Eagle and the Lion is a story of the powerful connection between Col. Hubert Julian and Emperor Haile Selassie; and is an intoxicating account of the U.S., Jamaica, and Ethiopia during the era of The Black Nationalist Movement.
